Bibliography

Peter Gulikers began his music career in the 1950s in Australia, strumming Elvis tunes on an acoustic guitar. His talent quickly stood out when he won first place in a local talent show, an achievement that ignited his passion for music and performing. Inspired by his enthusiasm, his brothers soon followed: Jules took up the drums, and Martin learned to play the bass.Together, the three formed The G Brothers, performing at local venues before eventually immigrating to the United States. Their big break came in 1964 when they released their debut record with DeeJay Records in Oklahoma City. Their single, “I Will Remember You,” gained national attention and climbed to #11 on the radio charts—sharing space with icons like The Beatles, James Brown, Chubby Checker, and Dionne Warwick. In 1965, The G Brothers returned to their homeland, the Netherlands, where they continued touring across Europe and even performed for the Dutch Royal Family. During this time, they welcomed a fourth member, Jim Dalman, a rhythm guitarist serving in the U.S. Army. His addition completed their rock ‘n’ roll sound, leading to a contract with Telstar Records.Their next release featured “Baby, It’s Alright” and a reissue of “I Will Remember You.” Both tracks became hits in Europe and the U.S., solidifying The G Brothers’ place in the international music scene. Later that year, they released their third single, “Victim of Love” under Sunshine Records. After returning to the United States in 1966, Jim Dalman was forced to leave the band due to his ongoing military service. To maintain momentum, the G Brothers recruited two new members—a lead guitarist and a keyboardist—and rebranded themselves as Group Therapy. With their new lineup, they began booking shows across the country. They soon landed a recording deal with Parasonic Records, laying down tracks at the legendary RCA Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. However, despite their growing popularity, the new additions to the band proved short-lived. Creative differences and instability led to their departure, and ultimately, Group Therapy lost their recording contract.Still, Peter Gulikers refused to give up!Over the following decades, Peter continued to write and perform as a solo artist, releasing his music through various independent studios in the Oklahoma City area. Now, at 85, he's still recording—and in his own words, "I'm not done yet!”
